My favorite music is the Gregorian Chants. I enjoy any Baroque music such as Bach and Vivaldi.

I was born in Tucson, Arizona, and I have lived in Mexico City, Mexico, Phoenix, Chicago, Boston, and I am now currently residing in PA.

I have my BFA in Fine Arts, I have exhibited extensively in group and solo exhibitions, painted three public project murals, and I was published in a Latin American artbook. For an in depth view of my Bio, Statement and Resume, you are welcome to visit my web site at:

My current goal as an artist is to promote my art, and to seek gallery representation.

Painting has been the love of my life. What motivates me to create is that I don't know what the subject matter will be. I find this process very invigorating. I believe that I am simply a paint brush that is being guided by the Holy Spirit. Of course technique, a sense of color, etc. is involved, but the actual images painted are inspired by the Holy Spirit. At times a comical or whimsical subject matter will be portrayed, but when I see that a Holy painting is to be completed, it puts a heavy burden on me to do my best to rise to the occasion. These paintings, as a result, are very special. I call them Sacred Art.

Also please feel free to visit my blog at:

I have a passion for making jewelry and crafts in general. I love in particular primitive jewelry.

Thanks for your comments on my piece, I've been trying to experiment with dripping effects in some of my pieces.  I wasn't intending for the grusome factor in it, but I try to leave it up to the viewer to feel or think what they want to think.  So Here's to each his own.  I have been working on more abstracts to put on the page as well.  Your crosses are amazing.

Dear Veronica,

Thank you so much for your kind critique. I'm a little shy about putting my work up, but I really want the interaction with other artists and the feedback. I was so excited about having a comment I didn't even take time to look at your work! I'm going to do that next.

I, too, love to make jewelry and I have made some paper pulp and paste paper pieces. I now want to try some raku fired ceramic pieces. I find that drawing and painting are so intense that I need to switch to something else every little while and that's when I play with jewelry or sculpture. I see myself as a Jack-of-all-trades-but-master-of-none type person. Probably the downside of being a former art teacher (I've been retired for 1 year and 3 months and am enjoying every minute of it.) I just love everything. I get excited when there's an art process I don't want to do, and there aren't many. Sorry for the long reply. I meant to be on my way to the studio by now. I'm going to check out your blog. I have one on Blogspot, as well. It's called Traveltwique if you are interested. By the way, my name is Kate. Sunshine was the only think I could think of the day I signed up. I guess I was a little scared of what I was getting into. I know - that's dorky.

Thanks for all your comments. I like your art very much and how you narrate using many of the the vanitas art symbols in your constructions.

Hello Escudero, Thank you for visiting my site and for the wonderful comments you made about my work. I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner but when you visited I was just leaving for a technology-free vacation in the mountains of Georgia. The trip was exactly what I needed, a big breath of Gods' great creation! I absolutely love your work and I will be back to visit and comment often I'm sure. Take care, it has been a pleasure meeting you through your work. Scott

Thanx so much . Ur work is very alive and fun to get lost in. Artwork is more amazing when you cant stop looking at it! The bug is color pencils and the roses are oils. The rose painting was my second painting. I gave it to my mother. Happy to meet you too! Keep in touch.

Thanks for stopping by, Veronica--and for your kind words.  Your work has a playful, "funky" nature to it that I appreciate.  A lot of joyfulness there....

Best regards,

Steve
