I took a wonderful one day workshop today at the home/studio of Vladimir Zhikhartsev, a local artist.

He painted his demo of a winter scene, a stream partially frozen over, with rolling snow mounds and light and shadow.

The theme of the workshop was "Signs of Spring ".  I did a painting of Snowdrop flowers, and with his excellent guidance, I ended up being quite pleased with it. It will be posted within a few hours tonight.

It was a blast, and certainly fired up my inspiration!

Well, another day of not painting. I just cant seem to get inspired, motivated, creative....whatever you wanna call it. I can't put my finger on it, I've lots of ideas for painting but just cant drag myself to the "studio" to get started. Any one have any suggestions or ideas? It has been a long hard winter and spring is coming, so maybe that will help... I sure hope so !!!!
Last night was our First Friday show at a local gallery. Lots of beautiful paintings, I had 2 entered. That always inspires me and I come home and paint late into the night, but not this time.....
Maybe I need to go back to basics or just paint some color swatches....I've been thinking this may be a good time to attempt some abstracts also.
