Hey thanks for the kind comments.  You can thank or blame Captain James Cook for naming Doubtless bay as he did.  As he sailed past in his big tall ship The Endeavour back in 1769 or whenever it was he spotted our Bay (I say our bay cuz us Native Maori were already here hee hee...either physically or in spirit) and he goes to his ship mate 'Doubtless that's a Bay over there' pointing this way with his sextant or cat o nine tail whip.  Worse tho he named Poverty Bay down Gisborne on the East Cape of our North Island cuz the local Maori (my maternal grandma's people) wouldn't let him restock his ship with supplies when he sailed into port....yeah pretty mean of them I know.  I never learned history at school but my mama handed me down her version of events as she saw fit and interpreted them.  Hey and I like your Art too.  Dianne

Hi, Melinda, I have to be sure I have either backup funds saved up, or a job secured where I plan to go, and, yes I stay as long as I want depending on the job and on how involved I can get in the art in the area. It seems that less than 4 months does not allow enough time, but by 6 months I can usually tell if I want to stay awhile longer. A great way to make new friends and have new experiences. I love being a gypsy!
