Mission

The mission of Lux Center for the Arts is to enhance the lives of a diverse public through the visual arts by providing exceptional learning opportunities in contemporary art, craft, and design. These opportunities, honoring the legacy of arts educator Gladys M. Lux, include art classes, residence programs, gallery exhibitions, and community outreach.

Opening reception, June 6, 5-7pm

The next exhibition in our gallery will be Handsome Deviants: Works on paper by Brett Anderson. This solo exhibition will show work that Anderson has made while being the resident printmaker at Lux Center for the Arts. His work explores contemporary social commentary through the use of his own personal brand of ghouls and monsters. Satire is most often at work in Anderson's highly detailed woodcut and intaglio prints and drawing.

Education is a cornerstone of our mission here at the Lux Center. We teach classes to youth and adults in ceramics, painting, print-making, jewelry, sculpture, and more. To download a class schedule, please go to...
