Hi Ken,

Thanks for the compliment. I like your work, too. Especially the lady with the utensils in her hat! Very nice!  My passion for pastels goes back a long way. I worked in oils for a while and I've done some watercolor, but I love the pastels far more. I like to build up the layers of pigment as you would with wet paint. It's a most versatile medium.

Hi, you for visiting my site, I work in both acrylics and oils, depending on the project. I really enjoy oils especially working on a Plein Air piece. Your portraits are wonderful. Best of luck to you,

Karin

Thanks for your comment... the guy I photographed and did the painting from said he was a bit Osage, a bit Cheyenne and a bit Irish.

You have some cool portrait work..."Sanguine" is nice... I believe I like that one the best.

God bless,

 sm

I was sixteen, and my high school did a trip to Scandinavia and Russia.  We went by train to Leningrad.  This would be in 1968. We saw many of the things you mentioned in your bio.  It was very pretty but oppressive.  I am sure it has changed now and is much more open.

Thanks for the comment about "Megan".  In reading your profile, I got to go to St. Petersberg years ago, but it was during the Cold War.  We came out of the USSR to Finland (17 years old) and kissed the air of freedom.  It was quite an experience.  As far as USA, there is no place like home.  I hail from San Diego, and there is also no place like San Diego!  Cheers - and your portraits are super!  Lucinda
