Coming up to Speed

Just got back from Chicago and viewing the wonderful glass exhibit at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, plus a fast run over to MO and some wine tours with family.
I have been invited to exhibit one of my pastel paintings in the new upcoming Smithsonian Institute's "Between Fences" exhibit.
I finally got back to painting and invite anyone to see the latest daily paintings in my gallery.
I am getting ready this Thursday for a small two person show at one of our local banks with Carl and myself.
Carl just won 1st place at the 2008 KY State Fair in the stained glass panel exhibit and my "Jacob's Wolf" won 1st place in watercolors and "A Square Universe" (a fused piece I made) won honorable mention so it has been a busy month here.

Finally getting back here.

Have been busy painting, writing and have had a lot of organic gardening articles published.
I won the GreenThumbsArticles contest for the month of July, that makes 1 month second place for most original articles and 6 months first place for most articles and most original articles. Check them out, please.
Some of my paintings has also been added to totes, tiles, note cards and post cards suitable for framing and other fine gifts. Please check them out.
I have just learned how to sandblast on glass and create a new kind of art for me. You can see my first piece in my picture section.

Trying again

 I am trying again with just copy and paste and I could not do what was suggested by Analagous so lets see what happens when I submit this. The funny thing is the cat nap picture came out fine. If one clicks the picture icon above and puts in the http etc code for the picture it should come up like it did for catnap and like it did for all my gallery pictures.

Trying to put in picture of Bok Choy

 I have spent 30 minutes trying to get this picture of Bok Choy in my last message and it showed up briefly and then went to this type of deal. So I tried it again on this new message and I do not think it is working either. Any hints etc.

I Love Bok Choy

"I Love Bok Choy" is a 4" x 7" gouache watercolor painting on 100% cold pressed watercolor paper as one of my daily paintings and was done for an article of the same name written by me for GreenThumbArticles website of which I am one of their featured writers. It comes professionally matted and unframed.

Been out of touch

I have been busy with my gardens and you can take a walk through Arlene's Gardens and our dog became very ill and we had to put her down which threw me for a bigger loop than I thought it would.

I am back to painting again finally and I am real pleased that some of you have allowed me to write about you and I am so glad that you have thought the articles were worth while.

Cat Nap

This month I decided I would try to paint miniatures each day. The larger painting take longer to do. This is my first effort in this type of technique. "Cat Nap" is a mixed media miniature painting on 100% acid free paper. The painting is 6" x 8" and is matted with a 8" x 10" mat ready for your frame. This painting was done as part of my self appointed homeword from an art book I was studying. It is India ink and watercolor and water color pencils. Illustated cover for my new book

This is the book cover I painted for my new book, "The ABC's of Wine and Beer Making" which is now going to the publishers. As a serious home vintner for 14 years this was a fun illustrated painting to do. Yes, that is me and the sign on the wall says, "Employees must wash feet before returning to work".

Looking for artists

Besides Painting etc, I write about artists and I have had books published about Kentucky artists, Who's Who in KY Arts and Crafts 2006 & 2007. Plus I write a weekly art column in our local newspaper in KY.
I am expanding outside of KY and am gathering Material for Who's Who in Arts and Crafts 2008 which will be published in Dec. 2008. It is a great reference book for buyers and sellers of arts and crafts.
