Yesterday I was visiting my other blog and checked in with one of my favorite painters, http://worksbytracy.blogspot.com/ and she posted an intriquing idea.  The idea of Pay it Forward with our art!    Some of you may have seen this happening.

The concept goes as follows:

I will send a handmade gift (in my case I can specify that it WILL be a painting, probably a very small one, but a real live painting nonetheless) to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I don’t know what that gift will be yet and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days, that is my promise! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.

When you leave your comment, please also do one of two things: leave your post address or e-mail it to me.

I was lucky enough to be Tracy's 3rd respondent.  I can add a piece of hers to my walls....it will be a great addition! 

As Tracy mentions in her blog, she is usually a humbug about this sort of thing, I could add that I'm usually skeptical or in this cas a bit shy about doing this...but I'll love to have a work of Tracy's and others will feel the same (about my work) as this goes on!

posting some new paintings in the gallery.  i'm having some difficulty with the camera in getting my purples to be purple-they're showing up more blue.  urgh.  the camera is a digital Canon power shot a530-this blue business is a chronic issue.  i'm trying all sorts of settings-to no avail.

After a month long journey from dying computer to stolen computer to new computer, I have arrived!

I had one disc with 2007 paintings saved on it, these are a few paintings from this year.  Anam is a cathartic piece from the winter....it deals with emotions revolving around aging and sickly parents, loss, strength and love of family and the journey through it all.

I've been on a new track with landscapes, the one posted is where I've been going....although i've never worked very realistic, my subject matter is landscape--depicted loose and color full and I suppose somewhat impressionistic.  The new direction is graphic-ish, pushing and playing with color combinations and boundaries.

I'll post a third that illustrates the usual track.

My computer died a few weeks ago and then it was stolen!  I lost quite a bit of my stored images.  However, a new computer has been bought and pics of paintings to come!  (backup and backup again!...lesson learned)
