This Piece was actualy a collaboration between my brother and me. He worked in a stained glass business for 10 years and had access to all the tools. We were able to use any glass we needed for my butterfly design except for red glass (but we still threw in a few squares). Red glass is made with gold dust! So it's Expensive! I made this piece to hang in the Montgomery Museum of Fine Art as a proposal decoy. Inside the frame there was a hidden compartment with a ring box and my lovely wife's maiden name on a nameplate. She loves butterflies and was interested in buying a stained glass window so I worked with museum employees to stage the whole thing. I "bought" the window off the wall and made her look at it outside in the sun. That's when she found the compartment on the back but by that time I was already on one knee! Aaahhhhhh.
