cannery row?  love the colors and detail here... watercolour is a very unforgiving meduim for me, my wife is a genius with it, and this is an awsome example of how really good a watercolour can look. eye candy for sure.

please do not scrub this out! watercolor paper must be treated carefully and can not handle sand paper or too much abuse (in my opinion) and this looks beautiful as is. It does sound like you are aiming to lighten up your style with watercolors and as an exercise let me suggest just playing with paints, a spray bottle, some paper, and do some washes, let the paint drip, see what happens, play with the medium.

I find really interesting is that even though I can recognize the subject, I can't place it in the earth realm,,,All of your work has a realistic yet dreamy or mysterious sense to it.  This painting makes me think that once this building was a thriving commercial center on the boardwalk..and now it is deserted.  It tells a story...


 


It is very intriguing!  I've enjoyed your gallery and all your work!
