this is really good.  looks like water and earth.  Your swirls are a great touch to the piece, and I can see that Klimt influence you were talking about.  Wasn't he an amazing artist.

the painting was started with a thick textured white paint.


then I started building color first brown, then a deep red, when this dried I used yellow  ochre and light yellow mix. followed by red water washes and orange watery washes, wiped off.  Next was t add the splashes of blue, first a dark purple blue then the turquoise... last I painted on the gold swirls.


 


Serene waters was a time when I was trying to Express FLOW in life,  being in the moment.  the gold swirls (a Gustav Klimt influence were added, because it is a golden moment ... FlOW is a natural gift, a natural place, we strive for it..yet it is always there just ready for us when we notice.....

Great piece!  Looks as though you've used impasto?  Are the coils painted on or attached.  The complimentary oranges and blues work amazingly!  Nice Job
