It kind of feels like I was in a spaceship and shrunk down to micro-size and entered a part of the human body. Just like some cartoonists illustrates in their cartoons.

Other than that, I like the versatility of your art and the effortless effort of not trying to group your work into any particular category.

Thanks for your comments on my painting.

I created the effect by lots and lots of glazing.  It takes about 20 or 30 layers of thin glazing to get the really dark, sharply defined image.  Then, when I got the layers to about where I like them I went over the more transparent areas with a metallic gold glaze. Unfortunately, you can't see the shimmer on the image here.

The painting represents several things. First it is a representation of the Irish god Creidhne, the god of gold working.  Second it is a representation of rusted metal (the painting is actually a very close up view of rust on metal).  What does the painting mean to me?  I guess it symbolizes the craftsmanship of humans and nature...the ability of both to create and shape beautiful things.

How in the world do you do that? I love the contrast of the transparency to the defined. What does this represent to you?
