I really love your landscape paintings...they are so full of light.  I especially like this one...the way you play the light through the tree and onto the ground...very beautiful...debmadison

Hi Richard,

The fire in this tree is reminicent of growing up in Illinois.  Love the painting!

Beautiful. Love the purple shadows, that wild tree and the animated brushwork.

hi richard,  thank you for your comments on my work.  it's funny because i've looked at yours quite a bit, this piece in particular.  i like the textural quality.  this is oil, right?  you say you've been painting for 5 years, impressive learning and progress in a short time!

to answer your questions, yes mine are in oil.  for the most part the pieces range in size from 8 x 10 to 16 X 20. i have one large one (anam turas) which is 4' xx 5'.  funny you asked about the size, i used to work larger, then switched to raymar panels to work en plein air--so i've been working small.  but i just started 2 pieces this week that are about 30" x 40".

Very effective. A nice bit of the unexpected. Great color.
