The pieces are made from an outdoor carpet used on houseboats around here. This piece became a part of a larger installation called "Shadows" in the gallery made up of a variety of underfelt and carpet. Lake Mungo is a huge dry lake where some of the oldest Aboriginal remains in Australia have been found, 40,000 years plus.

Very interesting. What are the environmental pieces made from? Are they fixed; can you move them from place to place without them shifting, or are they sculpted on-site, photographed, and then lost forever?
