This painting is AWESOME!!!!! What medium is it ? I love the void-like background of a black starless night. I also like it for it's simplification...you probably editted out extraneous details. Was the sky really that black ?  The shadows by the stairway make it look like a mysterious  movie set . This is inspiring me to do a "night time carnival" type painting.
