Thanks for the compliments everybody!!!

I've been doing so many commissioned pieces in a realistic style I was beginning to feel like a human copy machine (working from customer's photographs often); And I've been finding myself seriously longing for the expressive intensity, fun, and creativity I used to create pieces like this one.  I want to thank you all for the awesome comments/compliments on this piece.  It is very encouraging to know that not everyone is drawn to photorealism only. -  I can't wait to get started on some more expressive work!

Thanks again everyone!!!

Jenddria, Wow! I love suprises. If I'm not suprised in some way, I'm not impressed. That goes for movies as well as art. If I can see it coming a mile a way, ho hum, What's next. But if you leave a bit to the imagination, don't spell it all out, blur the lie between top and bottom or beginning and ending - Now You have my attention. As you do with this piece. I'm not easily impressed. Thank you.

I'm interested in the process you describe also. I'll have to try that technique some day.  I like to be suprised when creating also. A technique that lets chance play a part of the creation is therapeutic to me. That loss of control that must happen for the end result to take place.

exquisite contrasts of feminine power with a diabolical focus that overtakes the background and makes it incidental

 hmmm... a thought provoking piece

This piece of art was created in a "negative" type process, where you draw on the watercolor paper with a clear coating that can be rubbed away later, (I forget what it's called at the moment.) and then paint over the entire paper with black ink.  Let it dry.  Then rub off the initial material to reveal a drawing in white.  I had no idea what it would look like and I remember being very happily surprised at what appeared!  This is definitely one of my favorites!  Thanks for the compliment!!!
