Classical Portrait-- An interpretation of an ancient statue. Followed the look of the statue quite closely, but naturalized it a bit. Although I wish now that I had changed the nose a little.

I loved Greek and Roman statues and would draw from black and white photos of them for human form...I loved the draped toga thing too.  I also enjoy the Ol Masters...and would "copy" their work...that was my type of training in the early years.

We were at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the city this past weekend to visit the newly renovated Greek and Roman wing. This pix puts me in mind of the wonderful marbles there... and unlike a majority of the statues we saw, this one has a nose!
