Your work is intense and intellectual. I love your explanations of your pieces, it helps a lot to see your message. You are so from the soul. You blow my mind a little. My work is peaceful and gentle, an escape from the hardships of life. Your work plunges in and swims around the toughest of concepts. I love your honesty and your ability to plunge.

You have a wonderful body of work. I like this piece very much. But, I LOVE your write-up about it. Hypocracy, judgmentalism and the "better than thou" attitude coming from "Christians" have been the most damaging elements to the Christian faith. Christ is our example...and never once did he wield any of these traits. Unconditional love - we get it - why can't we give it?

Keep up the great work.   -Don

96" x 60" mixed medium on canvas

This is a pretty large painting. If you've looked at the video on my page, that's this one being painted.

"Our failing glow" addresses judging others in a Christian walk. I have a friend that is a virgin and wishes to remain one until she gets married. I think that's admirable, but she wields it around often in a bragful manner... as if she is better than this person or that. The painting shows someone holding up that thing they've got power over. Virginity, a tolerance to alcohol, not smoking, whatever the case might be, but the truth of the matter is that we are all still sinful and the glow of our sins are so apparent to God. He looks at us... glowing... and we pitifully stand there with our ball of 'achievement.' Realizing we turn in shame as God shows us (second canvas on right) the powers of what he hold back from us.
Here's a photo with me next to the painting to give you some size appreciation.
