Making the Leap

We (my wife and I) have been art teachers for almost 30 years, with successful (in acclaim, not $) art making careers, and we are plotting a course to leave our teaching jobs and live a more creative life around art making.(kids are out of the house and almost on their own) We are not at official retirement age-so it isn't that kind of deal (we really don't believe in retirement anyway). We are just ready to make a change and more a commitment to art making. But is it possible in your mid-50's? I am sure there are others in our situation and others that have made the leap. Would love to create a dialogue about the issues involved.
