Glad you like my work. Yes I made it through the last summer and have been suprised that this one has been mild so far. The tripple digits havent really started until lately. I am trying to find galleries in the area for the glass leaves I am making but it may be a tough year for that. Several in the downtown Scottsdale art district have already closed or have plans to do so when their lease is up. I still need to look at other areas like Sedona but I keep putting it off. The Gallery scene is all very new to me.
hi deb thanks for being my friend you can never have to many digging the art work i love to see what people are thinking thru there art its like readind ur mind ttyl victor
Deb, thanks so much for your kind commment. I love the southwest and go to Sedona as often as I can. It is so beautiful where you live and paint...and the paint dries faster! Happy Painting! Sandy
Thanks for the kind words about my self portrait and the untitled water media experimentation. The self portrait was a linocut print. I was inspired by the works of Barry Moser, especially this print http://mdah.state.ms.us/pubs/mhn/moser_2.jpg
I love how a bunch of lines can actually form a human visage. The water media piece actually has some oil pastels in the mix. There's also wax resistence and watercolor and possibly some ink. I get going and can't remember what I threw in it at times! Great hearing from you- take care JK
Yes I am working on another print now, doing it again. I am looking into something called solar plate printing too, offered at the local printmaking studio. The water pastels have annoying globs which translate to blotches on the image, got to get more meticulous about those, and prep the image more carefully. The running Stag was pretty quickly drawn. Since it works on plexi glass and denril, I can actually trace the drawing through on the clear plate, which saves time when doing multiples.
