Hey Diane!  Thanks for the compliments about my Coney Is. photos & blog.  My family are all from NY, too (1/2 from Brooklyn near Coney), but I didn't start hanging out at CI until several years ago when I discovered the Mermaid Parade.  This is a unique, special place that SHOULD be preserved.  Sadly, many corporate heads don't seem to agree.  Time will tell....  Anyway, I'm off to Budapest today to do more photography.  More to post when I return.

Hi Diane-  The young girls in my portraits are daughters of friends of mine.  One is a "miracle girl" in a sense that some of her brothers and sisters didn't make it and died because of a heart defect while they were in utero or shortly after they were born. She lived, and she now has a brother and a new baby sister.  It is a bittersweet story behind the painting. Her big brown eyes are so sweet.  We were babysitting her and she was eating a cookie, when she looked up at me with those eyes and I caught the image.  Just had to paint her. 

Well, I had better get offline before I get even more addicted - I am working on my portfolio, website, and a new series so I had better say-TaTa for now!     Deb
