i did not win

Well, I tried entering yet another competition. Something to boost my resume. But what a money waster, I received an e-mail saying otherwise, that I should not feel that this is the ending of my career but still it hurts when you are a very sensitive person.

Dear Stacy,

You are still young. Learn to take rejections, because they are part of an artist or writer's life. You will have plenty of acceptance of your work, as your life progresses.

In 2003, I wrote a novel. I sent it to 250 agents, first the New York ones, finally the Florida and Texas ones. I received 250 rejections. What did I do? In 2004 I wrote another novel and sent out 300 query letters, about 50 agents wanted to read the manuscript so I mailed them out at $18 per. What did I get? All rejections! What did I do? I wrote another novel. Sent query letters to 300 agents, 60 wanted to read the manuscript, so I sent it neatly packed in a special box with a cover letter, etc. Every one rejected the book. I am a sensitive person, too, all creative people are. You just take it and move on, not letting rejection cloud your creativity.

I didn't, and if you look at my gallery page, you will see some of my creative work.

Live in the light,

Lisabeth

Rejection can hurt, but it also can make us stronger. The antidote to this malady is perseverance.

Ya that stinks- but keep trying.  Eventually you will get in and then you will be thrilled!  Keep painting no matter what-
