No Motivation

03/09/2008 04:16:21 / bored

Well, another day of not painting. I just cant seem to get inspired, motivated, creative....whatever you wanna call it. I can't put my finger on it, I've lots of ideas for painting but just cant drag myself to the "studio" to get started. Any one have any suggestions or ideas? It has been a long hard winter and spring is coming, so maybe that will help... I sure hope so !!!!
Last night was our First Friday show at a local gallery. Lots of beautiful paintings, I had 2 entered. That always inspires me and I come home and paint late into the night, but not this time.....
Maybe I need to go back to basics or just paint some color swatches....I've been thinking this may be a good time to attempt some abstracts also.

Keep your coffee maker in your studio.  Then you have to go in there to make coffee and get a cup.  While you are in there, especially if you are waiting for it to brew, you may as well do something.  Good Luck

well I can tell you this... I told my students about this website and suggested they visit the gallery and one of my students emailed me to tell me you were one of her favorite watercolorists on the site!

Everyone needs thinking space. When I am unsure about what I want to work on I clean my studio. I sweep and organize and everything falls into place. If you are in your studio regardless of what you are doing you are working.                                Good luck, Mark

Sounds like a good time to "play" with you work, try something " out of the box for you" .

Good Luck, Alston
