Art Prints

05/05/2008 21:21:08 / lonely

I want to make some limited edition prints of my drawings, does anyone have any suggestions or experience with this. After a little research I am leaning toward Giclee printing.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Jason

Hi Jason, I have done prints several ways and the most exact, highest quality I have found are giclee prints. I dont know if your drawings are just black gray white or if you draw with color but the giclee print process is able to recapture the image and colors exact, color proofing is important but that may not be an issue for you. I also have done prints with a less powerful camera and I think the resolution of the image is the most important part of the reproduction (and the less powerful camera doesnt capture as many pixels per inch) and these prints are less costly but there is a definite difference in quality. I am going to do a show end of may and will see how my new less expensive prints sell at $50 compared to my giclee prints at $150.
