Strive onward

04/08/2008 13:03:00 / happy

This morning I watched the movie "Mr. Hollands Opus", Its already over 10 years old and actually quite good from an artistic standpoint. Mr. Holland, a frustrated composer, takes a job as a high school music teacher, without great interest or enthusiasm. Even though he is not doing what he thought was his heartfelt dream, he carries on. Over the years he becomes quite popular locally, but his dream of riches and fame through his art (composing) elude him. Its not until the end of the movie, that he realizes the inspiration, and impact he has had on so many people throughout his career. The jist of it...don't ever give up your artistic expression! You don't know how many people you have touched through your art. Sometimes it seems like a waste. You get discouraged. disappointed, maybe almost give it up. There are only a few people on this earth who feel the need to express themselves artistically. Continue to be one of them, spread the inspiration of your dreams to others. You have no Idea how many peoples lives are brightened by your creations......Craig

Thanks for the encouragement (I hope you don't mind I took it personally!).  I just posted my blog about being disappointed (it's called Good and bad...), and your words really helped. :)
