April Issue

Hi,

I just got the April issue of Art Calendar and I have to say it's the most inspiring and info filled issue. When I read that Eric Zener submitted work to the same gallery 5 times before being accepted it gave me hope. It also made me realize that I'm not getting my stuff out there enough. I tend to submit once and if rejected - that's it for that venue. I can't give up! I firmly believe that there's a place for all of us if we keep trying.

 A major factor in gallery acceptance is timing. So returning frequently can make the difference. Also remember galleries can be run by artsy types like us. It's an attention span thing.

You have the right attitude. Keep the faith,,,im in the same boat...but I think i just procrastinate and dont paint enough.

Hi Carlynne. I would encourage you to stick with it and don't EVER give up. Persistence is the key and keeping your name out there and in the faces of everyone you can will help you have breakthrough moments in your career. Remember, it's hard to forget a person if you are always there.

Also, we are announcing an entire series of Webinars (online video seminars) in the next couple of weeks. I would encourage you to check them out. The series is narrated by Paul Dorrell, owner of Leopold Gallery. Paul is a great motivator and a no-nonsense kind of guy.
