I agree with skyfire

Skyfire, you nailed it. I spent the last two days on my computer making a brochure for commissions with the new software from adobe photoshop elements and then made two applications to galleries. It was such an intense time sitting at my computer trying to learn the software while creating intriguing descriptors of myself. I have learned to create a website, brochures, postcards, cards, and photo albums when I would MUCH rather be painting. This is the life of an artist these day. Eh?

I am with all of you.  I just purchased Photoshop and am working on creating a portfolio, etc.  I am having to spend many, many hours just educating myself with the software.  I have not made applications to galleries because I still am working on portfolios, but that is coming.  Alison, how many hours do you spend a week marketing and how many hours do you spend painting? I am just curious.  I seem to be working a ton of hours doing these promo packs-and I just hate writing bio's and such, blah blah blah-- I just want a brochure and some info for purchasing.  I know that it is good for business, but uck!  Is it just me that feels this way about it?   Deb

I'm pretty well versed with today's computer applications but there's something about putting together a promo packet that just drives me crazy.  Maybe it's spending so much time thinking about how to describe my self, my work and my work ethic when I feel like I'm losing my work ethic by writing that crap.  Now a days my friends just leave me alone whenever I have to put together a packet.  They now the drill.

I'm with you. Too much time is demanded by this machine.  I worked without it for many years and now can't understand how.       me
