Etsy.com is a great place to buy and sell handmade items. But where does the artist go who doesn't really fit in there?I have been looking for a good place to go that caters to artists only, not jewelers or crafts people and you can sell your artwork there. I have found no such place. Usually sites where you can show your work, costs money and they take a percentage of your earnings, or you can't sell your work there just show it. I guess that's where having your own website comes in.

Therein lies another problem. If you want a good quality website, one that will grab people's attention, you probably have to hire someone to make it...etc.

So, I am asking anyone who knows of such a place where you can get a good website and not just something from a template, where you can show your work, sell it there and no one charges an arm and a leg for you to have it, or sell it. So far, my only answer is Etsy.com. I am not into Ebay.

MEMBERS COMMENTS VIEWING 1 - 1 OUT OF 1 COMMENTS From: Joansart 04/24/2008 12:42:59 FineArtAmerica.com  is free.   You cannot actually make a sale from it, but you can put your email for people to contact you.  You can also put a lot of pictures or just a few.  From what I hear, most artists do not actually make many sales of original art from websites anyway, but you can get some exposure.   If you decide to have a website of your own and can't do it yourself it will cost about $500.00 to set one up where you can do your own exchanges of pictures and text.  Network Solutions is a good hosting company and can do the website for you.  They did mine.  check it out.  www.JoanDorrillArt.com     I do not work for them.      Joansart
