SPRING CLEANING IN THE STUDIO
04/20/2008 18:09:11 / happy
It is always so refreshing to clean out the studio and add something new. It kind of gets me excited to start new paintings as well. So spending the weekend doing just that was fine with me. Especially since winter just seems to hang on, making weekend yard work still a bit chilly and wet.
Rearranging my reference and inspirational notebooks gave me more space for other things, and provided a fresh look at much of it.
Bill, my dear husband, was kind enough to build me two tilting shelves where I can spread out my references and idea pictures, something that was always so unmanageable and clumsy.
And a simple thing like swooping locations of my bulletin board and mirror gave me a better view out the big glass door behind me when I work. Now when I need to check a pose in the mirror I no longer have to step away from the easel to do it.
It’s amazing what a few simple changes can do for ones morale.
So I am looking forward to going back to work Monday, finish the painting that is on my easel and start a new one.
