Who Cares

03/06/2008 21:58:12 / other

Hey fellow creators,

Lately I've been noticing that after I walk, like at the Expo, a fair amount, my lower back hurts and I have to sit. Today an orthopedic surgeon took many x-rays and told me I have degenerative osteoarthritus in my spine, as well as fractures on both sides of my pelvis. I saw it all on 4 x-rays. No treatment, no cure. Anti-inflammatories and physical therapy. Not to be a bummer, but who will take care of the caregiver?

Luckily, so far, most of my work is done from a chair, but seaweeding, and the drying process, especially if it's on the floor, is backbreaking, without a problem. I am thinking of other ways, drying it on a table?

I have a good supply, but always want to see what is new under the water. I'll figure it out. Sounds like it't time to take out the gratitude list. Better still, work on another self portrait. My face in the mirror always makes me laugh.

Come out of yourself,

Lisabeth

Ah Jeeze Lis: Sorry to hear of your latest woes. Yea a largish table would reduce the back strain. Too bad we are so far apart, because I just inherited a 2nd drafting table from a friend. Probably wouldn't be logical to ship a beast like that tho.

You are an inspiration to us all; in that you manage to remain chipper no matter what curves the Great Wazoo throws at you.

Thinking of you.  Rick

Geez Lis, you're killing me over here. If anyone needs a break it's you. If there is a God, PLEASE GIVE THIS WOMAN A BREAK ALREADY!!!

Drying them on a table or countertop is a good option and should take some of the pressure away from your back. Is it possible to hang them somehow without them breaking?

By the way...Bad Hair Day, Party Skirt and The Magic Dragon so cool! Love those!

Ok, I'm going back in the garage to continue painting these antique window frames. Uh oh, t-storms are rolling in along with tornado watches...the sky is angry my friend.
