Just Do It

03/04/2008 22:32:52 / happy

Hey all you Arties,

Went to NYC again today, this time to Sloan Kettering Hospital for my husband's monthly check-up, which went okay. Every time, I wish the doctor would say "we can make you better, we can make you breathe, talk, eat" something to increase his quality of life. But no.

I came home, sad and tired and went into the studio and worked on my "Tribe" long, thin seaweed people, wandering along a sand-textured acrylic path, vertical slashes of red, symbolizing their tribal clothing? Something. Anyway, it lifted me up, it always does.

This is a big piece, I may work on another at the same time, and I am trying the self-portrait (first time ever) for American Artist. As if I don't have enough to do.

Practice meditation,

Lisabeth

Yea- I hear you. Sometimes I wonder how I would get along without my art work to turn to. Especially in the winter.Summer on the other hand is much easier when sitting on the deck or patio with a cold beer. Really looking forward to that.

I find I almost always have two pieces on the go at the same time.Keeps the interest piqued. Keep on creatin.

Lisabeth,  I always read your blogs.  If I don't always have a chance to comment, just know that they are very nice and uplifting to me.  You really have a way of coming out bright and shiny in any event you are going through.  It is nice to hear posative things.  Sometimes forums get so negative and down. I appreciate you taking the time to share...   Suze

That sounds nice, painting outdoors.  I've never tried it, but certainly will in the future.  I'm always struggling to find themes to paint.  I've only started recently so fairly new in the game.  Have no preferences at this stage. Any advice on how to select themes?  I hope your husband is okay. You are coping very well.  Good luck to you both. Sincerely. ARK
