New Orange Kayack blown away in storm

10/28/2008 22:45:09 / don't know

Good evening art heads,

Last night I got a call from my neighbor who said when she and her boyfriend went to pick up the kayaks from the private beach several yards away , their two-seater, my one seater that my husband bought me for our 10th anniversary, mine must have washed out to sea in the very windy storm we had Saturday night. Only the paddle remained on the shore. Because of my hand problems, I was only able to take it out a few times this summer, but I feel bad. I have a few photos of it, maybe i'll try a watercolor.

Slow day today, couldn't seem to get enthusiastic about anything, must have a fibromaylgia flare-up.

I'll get some energy tomorrow, seeing my thrapist.

Live in the light,

Lisabeth Billingsley

I once was very sad about something I had lost. I couldn't stop thinking about it...then one day my friend (who is big into buddism) told me something she had read and studied...that a loss of a thing should be looked on as a blessing. Now, you might be doing the same thing I did...eye roll, big exhale and a brace for an abstract explanation...however, what she said next did change my perspective. I'll share it with you - because this is a free forum and I can.

She said that if you mourn for that which is lost, rather than celebrate its brief existence in your life, then you are missing out on its beauty. In another words - enjoy what you have now, so that when it is ready to leave you, you are happy with its memories.

Don't know why I felt compelled to share that...but there it is...
