I've notice a lot of artist auction off their art work & reproductions on ebay. I think it's a great idea and I can't wait to get my security key to acution off some of my art.

But their is this slight problem I keep pondering over. How do I decide what to charge for shipping and handling for each work. Does ebay decide( like they do with half.com) or does the artist decide? It will be a least a week before I recieve my security key to get started(I wish I would have done it earlier), but I just can't get over this tiny hurdle for some reasons.

Would anyone here have an idea how the system works?

I have not decided to sell there yet but I do know there is a formula for figuring out what postage will cost based on dimensions and weight. I also know you have to figure in the cost of packaging materials. When I sell art now (not through ebay) I use the UPS store although I know it is not the cheapest way to send art, I get exact packaging and postage costs before I close the sale. Hope that helps.
