I think a big part of photo journalism 101 is learning to photograph your subjects in the most unflattering way. If the journalist hasn't mastered the technique the grainy news print will help to augment the work. I have been photographed for several news stories and have yet to see a picture that actually looked like me. The worst was last year. My work was scheduled to appear on HGTV so the local paper came and did a full page spread. The photographer shot the entire series with her wide angle lense. I look like a balloon but the story was great and you can't beat fre advertising. Your work is great, be carfull at those fires.
