Blog vs. Bulletin

02/16/2008 12:47:41 / don't know

Can someone tell me what the difference is between receiving a bulletin vs. writing a blog (and reading a blog)? why would you use one vs. the other?

and fyi, I have been trying to figure out how to insert an image in a blog for about a month now and have decided I am just meant to ever be able to do that!

Hi Robyn~

I'm not certain what the difference between bulletins and blogs is exactly, but I'll take a stab at it.  I would think a bulletin would be something you send out to a mailing list.  You would generate a bulletin for a specific event or reason.  A blog on the other hand is just hanging out there in the cyber-community, open to anyone's perusal.  They come to you, so to speak.

I am not new as an artist earning a living from my work, but I am relatively new to the online community.  It is part of my marketing strategy to utilize both bulletins as well as blogging.

Now, to answer your other question about inserting an image...and you may have already tried this; I haven't...but at least on Scuttlebutt in the Font Box underneath Your Comment you will see an icon in the second row, second from the far right.  It's a tiny tree.  Usually that icon in almost any program indicates you can insert a picture in your text.  I'm going to try doing that now and see if it works:

THREE LEMONSWell, I think it worked, but as I'm writing this there's no image, just a box with the image name on it.  Maybe it will show up when I send it?  Anyway, you have to type in the picture's path (URL).  Maybe someone else out there will know better what to do.

Hope this was a little helpful, anyway!

Blessings,

Karen

Hi Robin. The difference between a Bulletin and a Blog is simple. Blogs are viewable by anyone and bulletins are only viewed by your friends. I am working on instructions on how to insert photos and videos in blogs. More to come soon. David
