Good to hear from you.  I just got a new Dell with Vista. Similar to what I am used to but the photo editing is different and haven't gotten into it yet.  Still need to set defaults and personalize things. Getting used to a larger screen that is now rectangle rather than square is really throwing me off.

It is busy here, too.  Need about 12 more hours in a day.  Asked God to slow time down a bit but He has bigger things to worry about.     me

All is well; thanks for asking. Repairing a 1903 painting for a doctor, researching for an Oklahoma City exhibit, painting an over due commission, looking ahead to fall shows and having fun with new residence and studio.  Wow!  I am busy  - how about you?  What is WAOW up to?  me

Hi Pat, we are neighbors. I was in Cody last summer in Yellowstone. But we also stopped in Cody to go the the Buffalo Bill Heritage Museum. What a gem!! Beautiful work. I am amazed that you are doing pointillism! Joan

thanks for your comment on my woodpecker- I've been away on vacation and have been off the site for a couple of weeks.  Hopefully I'll get back at my drawing table this weekend.

11 x 14.  Most of my originals that I did today for my grand opening  is that size...just so I could get a variety of new things in.  Have fun with it...I think you will enjoy!

This technique is just something I was "funning with", and it would come natural for you to experiment with also.  First, just take ordinary markers and do your thing...it isn't pointilism, but detailed changes of color.  You need intensity for it to work.  The next step is to take a white painter pen (you can find these in the Walmart hobby section), and do your dots and dashes...following the flow of colors, like icing on a cake.  Then comes my magic and secret formula, but I will share because I will warn you ahead of time...art critics won't take pictures like this seriously...glitter spray.  Flling the can like a ballet partner, and most of the stuff may land "right" on your picture.  Try to scrape up the damage around on the floor before hubby comes home is the very last step in this creative adventure!

I enjoyed looking through your gallery, and I appreciate the amount of time you give for each picture.  In reading your profile page, I can totally relate to the joy of live demonstration drawing...usually it involves doing kid's portraits and caricatures...that's the highlight of my career, I think.
