So I set up a new website...

Hey there guys. Long time no update eh? Well, I've been a busy bee-- had my senior gallery show/ exhibit April 13th - 17th and it was AMAZING to have my work displayed like that. I was incredibly proud of myself. My work was viewed by the community and by all the professors! Currently I am working on some independent projects (mostly fine art stuff, not really commercial at the moment.) I set up a new website and I would greatly appreciate it if some of you all would take a look at it. IT IS BY NO MEANS DONE. It is a starting point for me and I need some constructive feedback on how to make it better... and how to better market myself. I am probably going to lean more towards fine art, so I will be changing some stuff on there, but I really need the opinions of some other artists. HELP PLEASE!!

Help!!! I graduate in May with my BFA in Photography and I have a question/ I need help!!
I would really LOVE to teach, but there's not a whole lot of options with just a BFA in Photo, aka-- I need an MFA or MIT to teach. I "could" teach high school technically, with a BFA, but there are not a lot of schools needing art teachers, art programs being cut and such. I would love to get my MFA, but does this limit me? I would only be able, if I get my MFA in Photo, to teach photography, and that would limit me to probably college only. If I get my MIT (masters in teaching, as we call it here... not sure if it's different where you all are), I could teach ANY art subject. That would be more up my alley.
The biggest problem I have, is that I also have a minor in English and technically in Art History as well. I'd love to teach art history more than anything... but I am so worried that if I get my MFA in photo or art history... there won't be many jobs available to me out there. :(
What should I do!??? I still am going to work independently on my own with my photography, but I love to teach.
I could use any input!! Thanks you guys!
PS--- I'm in WV, graduating from Marshall University after 6 years of intensive study in Photography/ Visual Arts. Specializing in Digital and Black & White media. Minor in English and Art History. I am expecting in August, so Grad school will either be NEXT spring or the following fall.
Thanks guys!!

Hmm, which direction to take?
DATE: 04/25/2008 14:02:16 / MOOD: don't know
So lately I have been struggling with myself. As I approach my final few semesters of my college career, I wonder to myself, what am I going to do with my BFA in Photography? Should I open my own business in the competitive world of photography, or should I pursue my initial goal and teach high school? The question I have is simple, do I need a MFA to teach in high school? I can teach general art, but I know some schools do have a photography department/ class. I have knowledge and experience in all different venues of photography, and I've taught kids before. I have knowledge and experience with film, darkroom processes, alternative processes, manipulation, photoshop, illustrator, dreamweaver, bridge, some lighting, photographic history, gallery and studio set-up and critiques, as well as other various areas of the craft. I don't know where to go from here. I believe I'd like to teach. I have a passion for both, so why couldn't I do both?

Well, hi everyone. Guess that this is a better place to find like minded people than Myspace. I also use a livejournal... but it is so hard to connect with other art folk. I am struggling creatively... there are so many pictures in my head, but I don't know how to get them out... The pictures I do produce... often I have no confidence in, or, I don't know how to get them out there for others to see, critique or comment on. Any helpful hints would be so appreciated! I also paint... and soon I may post some of my paintings here as well. Thanks so much... Casey
