"Today was a good day"
DATE: 05/07/2008 21:28:15 / MOOD: full of life

Like the song says ..."I gotta say today was a good day.." Well it's the truth! Let me start from the begining. Here recently I was working on a portrait of two awesome people for their wedding gift (which they didn't know about) I have worried continuously that it wasn't exactly perfect and it seemed as if something was missing. Well it came down to the wire and I finally had to say it was perfect, no more no less. I delivered the painting to my friends the day everyone was leaving from their wedding. I was hoping for a private unvailing so that it could be more sentamental. Well I got to their suite and it was a room full of close family and friends and no one was leaving, they all had to stay and watch!!(NERVE RACKING!) All I can say is the reaction was priceless...they were amazed at what they had been given. It's moments like those that I truly love the God given talent my hands have been blessed with. Props to the man upstairs! But aside from all this I ended up getting asked to show some of my work in a local Coffeeshop/Bistro by a girl who was in the room during the big reveal! Ahh man life is good...! Went to set everything up and wound up getting free food which helps the inner starving artist in me!! I love this talent!

"Hello there.."
DATE: 05/06/2008 21:30:27 / MOOD: full of life

Hello everyone,
I am a newbie here on Scuttlebutt..I found out about this site through the awesome magazine "Art Calender". As you can see my art incorporates a lot of different styles and techniques, as well as various mediums. The one continuous theme however is either motorcycles, hot rods, or classic cars. Even when you look deeper into the mixed media work you will find an element of a car or motorcycle lerking in the background. If you are wondering, "Why Cars and motorcycles?", Well, since about the age of 5 or so I started going to car shows with my family. I was always fascinated by the loud engines, the brilliant chrome flashing in the sunlight and the elaborate paint jobs that covered the curvacious metal canvases in front of my eyes. To me the automobile is the truest from of fine art. With each original painting I produce, I attempt to capture the "spirit" of these machines. So I hope you all enjoy the work in my gallery and please leave feedback and comments to let me know what you all think!
~Mike (Mojodaddy)
