Jason-  Thanks for stopping by my gallery.  Your work reminds me of times I spent in the northwoods of Wisconsin and the U.P. of Michigan: cool, misty, and grey.  Lots of atmosphere!  I moved to the sunny gulf coast years ago, and absolutely love it, but i did enjoy the boreal forests, and your work takes me back there.  -W

Thank you so much for detailing some of your working methods! I really appreciate that you took the time. Back out to the field I go, and, I may be back with more questions for you, but, definitely to look at your work more!

Hi Jason,

Thank you for your comment on Volkening Meadow. I am so glad to have stopped at your page...your work is stunning!! May I ask about your process? Do you use bristle brushes? A lot of palette knife? How do you get those phenomenal edges like in your red barn painting? I am trying to work with edges right now...and I absolutely love the diversity of them in your paintings.

I first stepped out of the studio last Spring, and am totally addicted, and wow, is there a lot to learn!

I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Karen

p.s. My husband just got some G.K. Chesterton for his birthday! cool.

Thank you for your kind words.  I know exactly where WBL (White Bear Lake) is-I am just north of there.  MN is beautiful now-the air is cool at night, the stars are brighter and the moon is bigger, the leaves are just turning and today it is 78 and very nice.  I love the autumn.  I just submitted a painting called, "Sweltering Summer" for the Minnesota Watercolor Society Fall show in Minneapolis.  Going there tomorrow for "meet the artists" and network abit-will be fun!  Thanks for visiting my page-keep in touch.

Hi jason

Thanks so much for the comment on my steel sculpture Deer Pablo. It was intended to be my whimsical tribute to Picasso. Love you nature pieces. I envy painters. I never considered myself a painter but a metal finisher. Enjoyed you outlook on life. We all walk this road only once. Experience every minute of it and capture it on canvas when you can.

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the comment on the trompe l'oeil piece.  I'm a musician, too, although it sounds like you took a step further than I.  My boyfriend and I enjoy playing together and performing live, when the occasion arises.  I  wish you great success in your art career!  Nice duckies, quack quack!

Rebecca
