I am very much enjoying your work.  I went to visit your web site. Nice!  I especially enjoy the slide show, with point-click selection. My favorite from your artscuttlebutt selection is Winter Deep.  It was interesting to find that it is the featured work on your web site.

I look forward to seeing your progress career-wise, I can see by the many "diverse facets" of your web site that you indeed have multiple skills!  They will, no doubt, serve you well...

See you again soon,

Hi Colleen, There are many acrylic mediums and you might consider trying them. You just never know if they will work for you until you give them a go. I would advise not mixing mediums and different brands of paint. Use the ones made from the same manufacturer as the paint with that paint. Every acrylic emulsion is different so they might react unexpectedly with each other.

Personally, I never learned how to use acrylic mediums nor liked the way the ones I tried worked. I paint using only water as medium.

Have Fun, David

When I see your art, I think of Leonora Carrington. I love the surrealism and the colors with a very personal touch. I love what the blip do we know... I think about that movie every day and with every action I take. You are very diverse in movie taste. I like the same movies too, although I have some favorites too.  Great job and thank you for sharing

Hi Colleen, Thank you for visiting my page and for your kind kudos’ for my work! A beginning acrylic painter huh…well, if you are interested in some helpful tips I would be happy to pass some on. One that changed the entire world of acrylics for me was the day I found Masterson Sta-Wet palettes! Art supply stores should not allow someone to buy the paint without one they are that amazing. These palettes can keep your acrylics usable for weeks! Another tip is to try Daniel Smith acrylics. These paints are professional grade, have incredibly strong pigment loads, have over twice the open time of Liquitex (workable time before they start to tack up), and almost no value change from wet to dry. I hope this helps your acrylic dreams.

Warm Regards, David

hi

and welcome.....it sounds like you and i are a lot alike.  i haven't written about myself yet...cause i can't decide what to say about me.

but i do alot of the same things you are doing and i would also like to do more art full time instead of teaching art fulltime.

so i am also starting my path for that new direction.

i enjoyed looking at all your work here and at your site.
