Hi Chris, Gorgeous work! I did some batik many years ago while growing up-- ran into a friend of mine yesterday who is now working in incaustic, using the newer electric batik tools. Between the two of you I'm tempted to dive back into the wax. Carry on-- you have a good thing going!

Thanks for reading my blog.  It really is frustrating as an artist to look at a customer and hear what our hard work is worth at times.  I try to produce everything in standard sizes to avoid that outcome.

Thank so much. I'm not sure what we have network wise, but will ask himself. my dailies are hard work and one of the best parts of my day. cannot believe the changes they're making in my outlook and my technique. Love the two pieces in your gallery above. Beautiful! I see you like the Allmans. Thoughts about Derek Trucks playing?

Just a reply to your reply.....I don't know what it is about clay for me....I "knew" it before I even got into it. Maybe its because there are so many different ways of working with the material. I always thought it had something for everyone (guess you disproved that theory) - because you can be spontaeous and intuitive, or you can get into the chemistry of it, or you can be painterly or you can be sculptural......on and on. But you DO need to enjoy "process". And you can't be a total control freak because the process defies total control.

But you're right...there just isn't enough time - and we do what we love. You're doing beautiful work, so I'd say you're in the right medium! I sometimes wonder if I am....well that's the insecure part of me....

Enjoyed chatting with you. Let me know when you start the stone - and I'll do likewise.

Thanks for the comment! I have worked in stone only once (SO FAR!) and I like it. I have another piece of stone just waiting. But I DID get tendonitis when I worked on it! Yow! I think I got it from the clay work, because I had been working pretty steadily and was so into it that I was just diggining into the bag of clay, instead of cutting piecec off - but the hammering on the stone really exacerbated it! I was in school at the time, and had a deadline, so no slacking off to let it heal!

Anyway, I'm here at your sight....and you're using my favorite birds as subjects!! And so beautifully! I have always wanted to learn batik. I think you use the medium to great advantage. Gorgeous!
