New painting gets Noticed!

I have interesting news! Yesterday, my new digital painting, "Blue Iris Impressions", got chosen to be on Zazzle's "Today's Best" list! That means that thousands of people will see it!(and maybe buy it!)

Getting Ready for Nature Festival!

Presently, along with all my other activities, I am getting ready to set up an activity booth at the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, Topsfield, MA this Sunday, (June 1st) to make nature Artist Trading Cards with the children. I tried this at last year's festival, and the kids loved it, so the leaders asked me to do it again! We will make about 3 or 4 cards per kid, then each child can trade one of their cards for one of mine, that I am creating this week for the festival. I often create some from photo-paintings featuring scenes from the sanctuary itself. The weather looks to be a bit cluttery, but since the event is held rain or shine, who cares? Come and see me if you are in the area!

Still Creating!

I have settled on a theme for my work this summer: "Colors of the Farm". It will be the theme for the majority of my digital (and analog) works. I will be taking reference photos of small farms and historic farm birthplaces for this series, using them to create the works, and then choose the best for giclee' reproduction and/or acrylic/oil painting. Here's hoping that my fall display at my friend's farm festival will be successful! I will keep my journal here! Any advice for advertising?

Happy Mothers' Day!

One Hundred Years! That's how long there has been a Mother's day! Unfortunately, my Mom is way up in Maine, and I can't visit her till next month! -sigh-. Still, my Mother-in-Law is nearby, so my Hubby and I will take her to lunch today! But, don't worry! I'm painting a pic for my Mom to bring up with us; it's of some rhododendrons (one of her faves). I've taken a photo, and will turn it into a nice acrylic painting for her to hang in her apartment.

New here, and looking forward to making friends! I enjoy doing digital paintings mostly; I like taking my own photos and using them as templates to create original works on canvas as well. I am determined to share my love of art with the world, even if I can't make much money doing it! Would anyone like to be firends with a happily married 54 year old birdwatching and artist nut?
