I have worked as a free-lance illustrator and graphic designer, and since 2001, I have been working in my home office creating web-sites, print ads, 3D illustration & animation; pretty much anything that involves images and pixels.

I have also been pursuing painting in down time. I love to go out on location and paint.(plein air) Often, I find it to be very relaxing and quite times of worship. Other times it is a mad race against the sun as it moves across the sky, constantly changing the light and shadows. I also do some studio work from photo reference. I'm in the same boat as you, Smiller. My personal ethics and political preferences are antithesis of most "artists". Doesn't bother me, though. I actually think it gives me more gumption! -Jared

Just love your rich and expressive work. Beautiful! Yes, up until now I have worked mainly in watercolor. I did oils in high school and college, then it got too toxic and messy to be around little kids when they came along. I also currently do some acrylic on canvas. Would like  to do more. Yes, I agree Jack White is a great inspiration and encouragement! Thanks so much for your comments. You are an encouragement, too!

Thanks for your comment about The Great Mediator.  This is a painting I did a few years ago.  It is oil on board.  I haven't done portraits or figures for a while now but may get back into it at some point.  It's so difficult to paint the Savior.  It's hard to put spiritual convictions into visual form.  I'm working on still life paintings right now that highlight wholesome traditions, seasons, and holidays.  As soon as I get a couple done, I'll post them.

Hey, I really like your paintings, I especially appreciate the Bible verses, when you sign it ! You have really good compositions, and concepts, these are areas that I lack in. When you paint a painting, there is something that inspires you or catches your interest, which makes you want to do the painting. I think you pass that along in your work.

May God Bless You !

Well!  I owe you another thanks.  You forced me to figure out how this guestbook thing works.  I'm very new to the site and still stumbling around.  I'm sure I've missed replying to some folks.  They probably think I'm rude.

LOL!!!!  I've been dumping some of my older stuff on the site here this last time...I better stop doing that, or people are going to get sick of me real quick!  LOL....still laughing about it, and I don't even know why it's so funny...oh...its the star thing...I don't even know what it means...hahaha!  By the way Smiller...I like to call you smiler, because you make me smile...thank you for sharing the joy of working for the Lord with creative hands.  It is like I mentioned to a couple other Christian artists...how rare is it to find Christian artists...not too many around...that has been the unexpected high five for me here!  By the way, depending on what comes my way mural wise or commissioned job...I may or may not place too many at one time again...that was fun though!  Yes, I'm still laughing about the dumping!

I think I've met a kindred spirit.  I can see a reverence and deep spiritual awareness in your work.  Your choice of subjects reveals a sensitivity to the sublime and humble.  I enjoy your work very much.  Thank your for sharing it with us.

Your work is lovely. I loved the Smokey mountains when I was in the US a few years back and found it glorious country.
