Hello Slkostura,

This
is an oil painting on canvas, 16" x 20". I used Winsor & Newton,
Griffin Fast Drying Oil Colour. It is an alkyd paint that is strong,
dries quick and I have been using it for over 10 years. It's great
stuff.  When I started
painting “Beholder”, it started with random brush strokes, then
blending and
blotting of the paints. Initially it was like a primordial stew. As I
worked,
it began to exhibit a serpent image and a tribal-like symbol. The upper
central
area of the canvas seemed to take on the form of a fish, then a bird
head and
then to the ubiquitous eye. I had no intention to paint the eye but the
image
emerged no matter how many times I reworked the surface. My paintings
often
direct which way to go, so I followed along; resolving to its
conclusion. It
evolved to the point that the painting seemed to be watching me create
it.
Perhaps it was…

Thanks for your interest

I agree with you that children are fun to paint and draw.. and sometimes very challenging! Blessings, Diana

Hi!

Sorry I've been a bit tardy on my response to your inquiry.  Thank you for your comment on Duomo Abstract.  It isn't a painting at all (I am simply not that detailed or patient when it comes to architecture ;o) but a photograph.

Hi there,

Thanks for stopping by and checking out, "Inner Child".  You asked if it was a self-portrait.  Well, I guess.  I thought I was the only one that knew.  You caught me.  Lol!

I love your pencil portraits.  I admire your talent.  I never could handle pencil very well.  Karen

Thank you for the nice comment. I wish I could submit better photo's of my work. By the time I resize them, they lose color and clarity.
