Hi Trish, Thank you for the email and the friend request.  I really like your black and white pieces.  The Kurt Cobain drawing, in particular, has so much emotion to it.  The Che Guevara one is very soft and shows a different side to him than the typical bold appearance usually seen.  Yes, definitely come to one of my shows if you are visiting your friend in Opelousas!  Do you do a lot of portrait work for "non-celebrities?"

Absolutely great stuff!!   People are such great subjects.  I love to do faces.  I wish I had taken photos of the ones I've given away!!  LOL

Never stop, you are terrific.

Trish, Thanks for the compliments on my work!  I'm new to this site, so it's great to hear from someone so soon.  I absolutely am obsessed with portraits.  I have tried other subjects, but the human face is so fascinating.   You have some very strong work as well!   I really like the "unposed" portraits, great craftsmanship!

Keepe in touch,

Kevin

Thanks for your comment on my "eye" horse portrait. Your portraits are amazing- very soft.

Very unique and interesting work - I love the eyes and the freedom of your strokes.

Actually, the police sketch artist gig was more depressing than anything. I would often be interviewing victims in their hospital beds. My first chore was an 80 year old woman who had been raped and beaten by a 20 year old man. As far as getting details of a culprit, it's pretty much remembering a basic art lesson- the 3 basic shapes. "Was his head squarish?" etc.
