Mythology is essentially story telling to interpret the nature of the creation. My purpose in my painting is the pure expression of imagination to bring forth a curious world that inspires a new mythology. These images which convey a surreal sense of time, place, and atmosphere invite the viewer to find a story in their own imagination. Thus, only a short narrative passage occupies each work and not a lengthy exposition. The creation of the remainder of the story is left up to the person interacting with the piece.

In creation, specifically with animals, I find the infinite imagination of the Creator. Each creature has a mystical presence because their design comes from the mind of God. Being made in the image of God, I discover great joy in employing my own imagination in my painting as a catalyst for a new mythology and descriptive narrative.

Comment and critique are most welcome.

Hi Tracey.  Your work caught my eye, so I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it.  The way you use contrast in your paintings is so compelling.

Your work is so incredible.  BTW, I embarked on a stretching program that gently targets the back.  It has really helped, and I am a lot older than you.  Lucinda

Sheep isn't finished? Looks finished (and it's signed). I think you should stop there.

Yep, getting paid is good, but it's more fun just having a canvas and paint and nothing but time.

An affinity for horned animals...quite unique. You're an original : ) Your gallery is exellent. The sheep peeking out of the crowd is my favorite.

I'm unfortunately working on a commissioned portrait. I say unfortunately because I was hoping to have time to get in some abstract work, but commissions pay immediately. Gotta do what you gotta do.

Thank you Tracy for sharing your concept behind your Miracles piece.  Fascinating.  Every time I look at it, it just draws me in.  I enjoy following your creative process and thoughts on your blog too.

Hi Tracey, I've stopped by your site before and I really enjoyed your paintings. I just had to stop back and tell you that your compositions are truly beautiful in their asymmetrical simplicity. You are a very talented painter and I love your choice of subject matter. The surrealistic qualities are what really hook me. Stay strong! Scott
