I earned a BA in studio painting from Auburn Univeristy Montgomery. I currently teach a painting class five times a week here in Montgomery. I have primarily worked with acrylics although oils are a great alternative. I love portraiture and regularly donate art to worthwhile causes. Thanks for the friends add.  I really like your work.  The watercolor that you are using for as the backdrop for your page is dynomite.  I have spent a lot of time trying to master one medium, oil and still feel that I have a long way to go.  But watercolor, acrylics, oils and linoblock, that's amazing. Keep up the good work. Richard

Man, it's too bad you live in Alabama and I live in Maine, which sort of prohibits me from taking your painting class.  Another great piece, reminds me of the west.  Wish I had more time in my studio.

Jared ~  Thank you for the friends request (its my honor) and the wonderful comments on Blue Willow Coffee!  It was a real learning experience for me which, personally, make it very special.  I ran across a quote from Picasso ~ "I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it."  I read it every morning before working on this painting.  For a 6x6 painting, it took me several tries and about a week to complete. Glad you like it!  As for your work... it is wonderful!  I especially like Between the Space.  I know the gentleman in it!  Have a great day!  Lisa

Wow, thank you so much for the kind words. It means alot to me.  My artwork is my passion and I'm try to get it out in the world for others to view, so having a professor give me a comment on my artwork is encouraging to me because I have no formal training.

Kind Regards, Kellie

I paint on what I got!  That  is to say I have a large amount of canvas board because I was visiting an alumni if the Art Institute of Boston who lives on the  Coast of Maine.  She was going to throw them away so I said I'll take them off your hands.  She gave me about 40 of two different sizes. Some are 9 x 16 and others are 8 X 10.  I figured what the heck I'll' get a chance to work out some prelimenary work and put the bigger work on premade canvas.  In the future I plan to work on canvas  which is stretched on birch panels made in California.  As for bigger pieces in the future it remains to be seen what I'll have at my disposal.  There is a friend of mine who paints on wooden panels that he reinforces 1'' stock and mounts a frame which is his design exclusively.  His name is Philip Barter, you might be able to find his work if you google his name.  I used to take care of a web site for him but he's an old fashioned guy and did'nt see the virtue of haveing website so he stopped.  Right now he sells his work out of his own gallery at his house and occasionally will have a show at a gallery or two around the State of Maine.  Although, he said he was going on a trip this spring to draw and sketch in the mountains of Virginia for a show there in the Fall.

Powerful insight!  Well developed abstract art.  I appreciated the scope of your work.  Your not stuck in the abstract world but draw from all types and forms of expression.  Work is what I lack and take great encouragement from artists as yourself.
