Hi Jared - Thanks for your note appreciate your thoughts on color and your questions. Most of my recent work has been digital. I have been selling prints of my oils that I generate myself with an Epson R1800. The Big Sur seascape for example. I digitize through my camera or scanner. A lot of my work starts with a pastel sketch on black paper. I digitize then use Photoshop Elements to Manipulate the sketch. I am an engineer by training so my approach and heavy use of my computer allows fast changes in color and composition. I love oils and would like to end up taking my digital rendering and do oil on canvas freehand from the rendering. I have printed on canvas with the R1800 with good results but the brush strokes are gone. I have tried "enhancing" the print on canvas with limited success. I shoot sunset and canvases with a 12 .1 meg Canon A650 low iso and full resolution - noise is always a challenge with digital photography, but its an outstanding technology. My prints are done on Epson glossy photopaper; the quality is good (~100 year life under glass), but on the computer screen there is a richness (brightness) that comes from the energy intensity in the tube. While I am sure the Memphis Tigers are a terrific team I live for Auburn Tiger football! I like to dabble in different subject matter also and even diff styles. I know that it is smarter to pay attention to what sells and stick with that but I just can't help myself sometimes. I am starting a daily painting regimine now and we'll see if that doesn't help my focus a little! - Jared

Hey tiger Pride as in Memphis Tigers?   thank you so much for your really nice compliments to my work...I did a Rothko type painting called Patriotic Irony...it is posted on my web site under Abstracts...i know you'll figure out which one it is if you look.  I like your work especially the scene outside the garage (city)... It's crazy I love doing flowers (abstractly or super realistic) but it's the abstracts that get the compliments!!!!  And even more funny I used to think abstract meant one didn't have talent....what do/did I know....I guess as long as they are making people smile that's what keeps me at it!  So Jared, I'll check out your blog!!!!
