I'm a storyteller in paint. Sometimes I know what the story is about, and sometimes I don't find out until many years later. I have created several series of paintings about different subjects. "Old Times" explores the concept of aging. "Bush League" is satirical political commentary. "Meditation on War" is an ongoing examination of the results of conflict. Me? I'm a full-time second-career painter, a retired Navy officer, a husband, a grandfather, and proud poppa of two little Shih Tzus.

Your paintings have a strong message and leaves one to think about the untold stories of the war.

Skip, I guess we are "friends" now.  Thanks for speaking out on the war and the conservative agenda with your art.  As much as I have opposed the war, I don't blame the soldiers.  They are pawns in the power broker's plans, yet their lives and the lives of their families have been so tragically changed forever, either with their death, or their injury, mental or physical.  Art that speaks to this pain and injury is important.  Thanks.

I see you are from Nortyh Carolina.  I paint with a group of women who are considering a visit to North Caolina, (possibly next year)to live and paint.  A friend's family owns a house on the outter banks somewhere.  We're all plein airpainters, and a photographer, and we hear it is very beautiful there.  If I make it there I'll let you know.  Kathy O

Skip,  I really appreciate your thoughts. I actually have to agree with you a lot!  Abstracted work is actually where I began, and I have been really drawn back to these works.  I will be sure to post my progress!  I welcome any of your critiques!

Thanks!!! Suze
