I'm a storyteller in paint. Sometimes I know what the story is about, and sometimes I don't find out until many years later. I have created several series of paintings about different subjects. "Old Times" explores the concept of aging. "Bush League" is satirical political commentary. "Meditation on War" is an ongoing examination of the results of conflict. Me? I'm a full-time second-career painter, a retired Navy officer, a husband, a grandfather, and proud poppa of two little Shih Tzus.

Thank you for your kind compliments. My work went through a change since the passing of my sweet mother.  It continues to evolve as I grieve for her and the loss.  She just passed away in March.  I miss her and I am not the same anymore. For one thing, I am painting with raw emotions.  I just finished another four in a different color scheme and will post those soon, too.


Your gallery is quite nice!  Hug those precious puppers and the rest of your family.  Thanks again!         Deb

Thanks for the comment on my work. I like the sculptures in the environment but my lecturers preferred them in the gallery.Your clown is terrific. What a treat for life drawing! I prefer to draw people clothed, not that I've got anything against nudity.
