I always appreciate your comments on my work. I was actually trying to draw focus this time to the eyes of the mask. I've always been fascinated with the fact that the empty eyes of the masks make it hard to read their true character. They don't become "alive" until someones eyes are peering thru. To paraphrase an old saying, "the eyes are the window to the soul".

As for the greens and oranges; the analagous yellow-green to orange color scheme is one of my favorites. You may have noticed that several of my works have this as their color scheme...            &nb sp;  Cheers,  -Don

Thanks for your interest in how the “Sea Captain” was painted.  The paint is watercolor on gold gesso.  The gold reflects light to give the paint more “glow”.  The background is in just two colors layered one over the other.

Your trees tell a story of character and wisdom.  Detail is the voice in your artwork.   Well done.  - Ruthy 

Hey, youre back. You asked about the picture of the trees in ice, Its under the freeway, right outside the 'Graffiti Graveyard'. If I had been facing in the other direction, It would have been looking into the opening of the Graveyard.

Hi Sue,  How have you been,  snow finally melting your way?  It's been a slow start to spring creative wise for me.....but that's ok, it's given me opportunity to just enjoy the blossoms and the birds,  and the sweet smell in the air....
